Doerken Launches New World-Class Tech Center |
Grass Lake, MI -Dörken Corporation USA, a global leader in the manufacture of corrosion protection coatings systems-announces the completion of its new North American headquarters and technical center located in Grass Lake, Michigan (near Ann Arbor). The 24,000 square feet facility with acreage for future expansion includes a state-of-the-science research wing for advanced coating testing, application trials, and turnkey system development for OEMs and plating/finishing facilities.
The new center represents a major capital investment of Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH, Herdecke, Germany global finishing strategies which has also recently placed new tech centers in Herdecke along with Korea and Brazil...providing the company with global R&D capabilities and collaborative resources.
According to Fred Schultz, Dörken USA vice president, the new facilities here and abroad are bolstering the efforts of their staff and products to continue as leaders in protective performance and environmental, hazard free compounds. "Our commitment to these ideals has always been high during our 60-plus years," Mr. Schultz notes, "the buildings only reinforce that mission, our people guide the way to ongoing success."
The new headquarters houses corporate offices along with engineering and applications technicians. The extensive capabilities of the technical center includes: Environmental, mechanical, physical and analytical testing, as well as coating applications processes testing.
Dörken's global coating solutions have been approved for use by and meet the standards and toughest specifications for corrosion protection, sealants, and lubricity performance of fasteners of vehicle manufacturers and Tier One suppliers world wide, yet are environmentally friendly. Its product development programs and manufacturing operations are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and to ISO 14001.
