DELTA-HEAT® 100

The silver, aluminum-containing, water-based DELTA-HEAT® 100 can be applied to a part at different times during the manufacturing process: this can happen before a hardening, forging or hot forming process. The coating cures at room temperature.Nice side-effect: coated parts are temporarily protected from corrosion.Under the influence of heat (up to a maximum of 1.200°C) the topcoat starts its work: the aluminum flakes in the coating melt. They create a hard, adhesive layer to the base metal – an aluminum oxide. This inert protection layer prohibits the oxygen, trying to enter the material from the outside, to move forward to the substrate. This leads to a reduction of the oxidation (the scale formation) of the substrate of up to 80 percent. All Dörken MKS products have always been free of harmful heavy metals such as chromium VI. As there is no hydrogen involved during the application process, there is no danger of application-related hydrogen-induced stress corrosion cracking.
