Powder Sintering Process

In this process, the components to be coated are heated above the melting temperature of the powder coating. When the thermoplastic powder granules touch the component, they sinter and fuse to form a closed coating.

Thermoplastic powders (PE, PVC, PA, PVDF) are used in the powder sintering process. Plastic layers from 200 µm to several millimeters thick can be produced as an anti-corrosion coating. Metallic work-pieces are usually coated.

There are different types of powder sintering:

  • Whirl sintering
  • Sintraflux method
  • Rotational sintering process
  • Bulk sintering process
  • Minicoat/Maxicoat process
  • Flame spraying process
